Established more than 80 years ago this charming Inn is renowned for its friendly hospitality, superb service and range of recreational facilities amidst magnificent mountain scenery. The Inn proximity to the green coastal belt of the Garden Route and the timeless Little Karoo allows for easy exploration of the natural wonders, scenic mountain passes and diverse attractions that these two regions offer. We have 25 tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms, family units, air-conditioned log cabins and thatched rondavels set in enchanting gardens shared by an abundance of birdlife. The main building houses the reception office, an elegant lounge, Bosun’s Whistle Pub, The Oak Room Restaurant, billiard room, children’s lounge, enclosed sunroom and exterior patio area. Eight Bells is situated on a 400-acre estate. Outdoor facilities consists of a bell shaped swimming pool - with small kiddies pool - sun loungers and a thatched boma, two all weather tennis courts, a glass-back squash court, bowling green, the Rooster walking trails - marked and colour coded - and horse trails. Twice daily outrides conducted by a guide as well as paddock rides for beginners - weather permitting. Children are also well catered for with their own play park, dining room and play area. Donkey cart rides for the children take place once a day after breakfast. Protea and fynbos is a feature during the months of autumn, winter and early spring, and the abundant birdlife is a treat for birdwatchers. The wide-open spaces, natural surroundings and absolute peace and tranquillity makes Eight Bells Mountain Inn the ideal honeymoon destination, or breakaway from the city.
