Zolile Malindi
Zolile Malindi (1924 – 2008) was born in Gqogqora, Transkei and eventually became involved with the trade union activities while working for a Woodstock hairdsalon in Cape Town. In 1960 Malindi was the Western Cape Provincial President and arrested and detained during the ANC’s banning. He was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment but won the case on appeal. He ended up being detained and banned many times thereafter and eventually banned for 12 years of his life.
